The Ontario Police Technology Information Co-operative is comprised of 34 Municipal Police Services, 6 First Nation Police Services, the Ontario Provincial Police, the Enforcement Branch of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Enforcement Branch of the Ottawa Transit and the University of Toronto Campus Police working in co-operation with the Government of Ontario.  The purpose of the Co-operative is to provide state of the art information technology and data management systems, including but not limited to, Records Management (RMS), Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and data networks for Approved Agencies.

For over 25 years, we have been serving our members in the Ontario policing community, working towards improving and maintaining their systems and technology.  OPTIC was created by a government initiative to ensure police services transitioned toward a digital records management system.  As a member of OPTIC, police services benefit from a joint environment, economies of scale, shared enhancements and the ability to move ideas and projects forward collectively as a community of practice.
